Wix & Semrush Integration. SEO Keywords Research.

To grow organic traffic from Google to your website, having a focus subject is becoming more and more crucial. Choosing the appropriate niche keywords for your Wix website SEO is one way to go about refining the topic and audience. The Semrush integration with Wix provides users with access to powerful tools directly within the Wix platform, to better determine a website's focus.

Semrush is a comprehensive SEO tool that offers a wide range of features, including keywords research, competitor analysis, back-link analysis, and more. It provides valuable insights into your website's performance and helps you identify keywords that can drive organic traffic to your site.
Here's an overview of how the integration works.

Connecting your Wix account to Semrush is the first step in order to use its data as part of your SEO Setup Checklist (and beyond).

To do this, click the "Get Found on Google" button in the Wix dashboard's "Marketing & SEO" section to obtain the "SEO Setup Checklist". You can then choose to apply the integration to select your core keywords as you move through the checklist. (Just click the “edit” button in the SEO Setup Checklist to change your existing keyword selection if you've already started this process.)

In a nutshell, the process when using the Wix SEO Setup Checklist with Semrush is as follows:

  • utilise the Semrush integration to specify your core keywords

  • choose your SEO keywords

  • use the keywords listed in the SEO Setup Checklist.

The Semrush information is geolocation-based! This signifies that you will have access to data and keyword suggestions tailored to a certain area. This is crucial because, in many instances, the outcomes vary greatly depending on the country you choose.

To start off, look for a definition that is closely related to the major subject, service or product that your business focuses on. The tool will then provide extensive data that you can use to dig a bit deeper before selecting the strongest keyword:

  • Volume — provides a rough measure of how frequently the keyword is searched for on Google each month.

  • Trend — illustrates how the monthly search volume changes over time.

  • Difficulty to rank — a hybrid metric that predicts how challenging it would be to rank for the keyword given the Google search engine results page's fierce competition.

  • Search intent — is the motivation behind a user's search for that specific keyword. Search intents may include informational, navigational, commercial and transactional queries.

This is very valuable information for analysis when selecting keywords, that will allow you to take into account the frequency, seasonality, competitiveness and even the purpose of queries, and make an informed choice. And the cool thing about it is that you can use the Semrush data to both help you complete the Wix SEO Setup Checklist and to find ideas about what to include in your content!

By incorporating methodically selected keywords strategically into your website's content and optimisation efforts, you can improve your site's visibility and increase the chances of ranking higher in search engine results. And you can do all of this without ever leaving Wix!
